Eighty-one years young, Rob Whitfield can now boast that he has carded a ‘1’ on all three nines at Highwood. Whitfield completed this rare hat-trick with an ideal ending to a spin of the Spitzee circuit. The sharpshooting senior aced the 107-yard finisher with one slug of a seven-wood.

Donna Price also has outstanding aim. Price notched her fourth career hole-in-one with this superb shot on No. 3 on the Heritage Nine at Highwood — a heck of a hybrid from 104 yards out.

Juvenal Faria was flawless with a five-iron on No. 8 at Maple Ridge, which measures 145 yards.

Hunter Wogrinc and Bill Keating can compare notes after both aced No. 14 at Shaganappi Point. Wogrinc’s recipe for success was a wicked wedge from 113 yards back, while Keating’s was a gorgeous gap wedge from 107.

Chad Reid, who lives in Calgary but seems to hit his best shots in B.C.’s Columbia Valley, drained an ace for the second straight season at Copper Point, this one extra special because his wife and daughter were among the witnesses. Reid buried a beauty on No. 16 on the Ridge Course, a nifty nine-iron from 145 yards away.

Hole 13 at Fox Hollow proved lucky for Jordan Hansma, who completed that 128-yard test with one swing of a seven-iron.

Marcus Matzeit and James Lee could have split the tab after same-day aces at Hamptons. Matzeit nailed a nine-iron on No. 9 and then made the 154-yard commute to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup, while Lee was one-and-done on No. 12 thanks to a splendid seven-iron from a distance of 130. Lee is on a hot streak — this is his third hole-in-one celebration in the past two seasons.

Jiri Hudecek hoisted a seven-iron over the hazard on No. 11 at Winston and was right on target from 157 yards away.

Jin Kim skipped the putting portion on No. 5 on Highwood’s Mountainview Nine. Four-iron was the right call for a 181-yard challenge.

Karen Hodgins was perfect with a pitching wedge on the third at Maple Ridge, which spans 99 yards.

Tyler Theberge will be saying only good things about his six-iron, his weapon of choice for a 173-yard memory-maker on No. 17 on the Mount Lorette layout in Kananaskis Country.

Clarence Bradbury finished a round at Lakeview in supreme style. Bradbury was spot-on with a seven-iron on the 107-yard closing hole.

Doug Croteau cruised through the second at Silver Springs thanks to an awesome eight-iron from 123 yards away, while Geoff Morihira made short work of the seventh with a stellar six-iron from the 193-yard markers.

Bryant Tomimoto was the toast of the clubhouse at Glencoe after sinking an ace during senior men’s league action. Tomimoto launched a five-hybrid across the pond on No. 4 on the Lakes Nine and was right on the money from 155 yards out.

Ty Snaith thought he’d airmailed the fifth green at Hamptons, but his wife Sue insisted that she watched his ball find the flag-stick. Ty didn’t mind being wrong about this. He had, indeed, swished a seven-iron from 151 yards away.

Barry Schlachter breezed through the eighth hole at Redwoods Meadows thanks to an accurate eight-iron that covered 154 yards.

Ed Ha had reason to hoot and holler after draining his tee-ball on No. 14 at D’Arcy Ranch. Ha was hitting an eight-iron.
